This course is ideal for qualified therapists from all disciplines wishing to revise techniques or explore new ones to add to their toolbox as well as for anyone who owns, rides or trains horses and who wants to learn more. It is a mix of theory, practical demonstrations and small group hands on practical sessions. It also provides the opportunity to network, share information and discuss interesting or challenging cases with other practitioners in a relaxed and supportive environment.
During this course Gillian will examine the importance of muscle and myofascial chains, fascial connections, compensation patterns and demonstrate advanced soft tissue techniques to include:
Anatomy of myofascial chains
Developing and refining solft tissue palpation skills
The role of skin movement
Myofascial release techniques.
Advanced Soft Tissue Techniques
The Muscular System: Biomechanics, Energy Saving Mechanisms and Contractions
Developing Intuitive & Anatomical Palpation Skills
Developing Anatomical Palpation Skills – Practical Session
An understanding of the role of the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and muscle chains together with an appreciation of the different types of muscle contractions is useful for this course.
